My team and I were tasked to teach the residents in Taman Jurong about the functionalities of the Google Home Mini.
We had a list of basic functions and added in our own few like:
"Ok Google, set all lights to 50%."
"Ok Google, play my rock and roll playlist on Spotify."
We get to teach seniors on some of the apps done by the Government like myCPF, HealthHub and Singpass Mobile. They also get to ask us regarding their phones like "how to connect to the public WiFi".
For example, we taught the seniors that the Singpass Mobile app helps to access any Singpass related sites easier. They can do that just by scanning the QR code instead of typing in the username and password with the OTP.
We were given the chance to clean and paint the homes of the seniors living in Senja. My team and I were tasked to spring clean a senior's house. We were given mops, sponges, detergent and etc, and managed to clean the whole house in about 3 hours.
We went to Thailand on a 14-day trip to build a fence at a local kindergarten. I had to learn from the locals on how to mix the cement, and how to paste the cement onto the bricks.
We also interacted with the youths to learn more on the language and how they live.
I manned a booth at the annual event where participants learn how to bin their waste properly. Using a claw machine, we re-enact how we bin by grabbing the balls and dropping them into the hole.
This is especially useful for kids who may want to have a play element into learning these actions.
